What is peer support?
Peer Support is a way for people from diverse backgrounds who share experiences in common to come together to build authentic relationships with a focus on active listening, sacred witnessing, sharing strengths, and supporting each other's healing, growing, and learning journey. We do NOT focus on diagnosis, deficits, expert or medical advice. We are rooted in solidarity not charity, we engage with each other with equity, compassion, dignity, and honoring that each person is their own expert, and we can all learn from and with each other in CommUnity.
T.R.I.B.E. Peer Support Agreements
We are all experts in our own experiences, and we take responsibility for our needs, requests, beliefs, words, and behaviors.
We honor confidentiality.
We listen to each other with intention to understand, not to respond.
We are striving to be a brace, inclusive, safe space; this means we strive to be actively anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-ableist, anti-homophobic, anti-xenophobic, anti-transphobic. Likely, because humans are sloppy, we may bump each other or make mistakes. We hold one another accountable for Repair after Rupture.
We invite Radical Joy, and we wholeheartedly welcome grief, anger, confusion, disappointment, rage, despair, fear, and the wide range of human emotions that are vital information to our experience.
All of you is welcome here.
We honor the Dignity and Divinity in the ALL ❤️️
