Perinatal Pilot Program

Apply

The T.R.I.B.E. Perinatal Pilot Program is an opportunity to practice weaving the wisdom and skills of different perinatal practitioners together in service to offering more holistic care for pregnant people in our community.

We are practicing a new model of sustainability as practitioners and learning best practices in offering a wrap around model of care for each pregnant / birthing person and new family that we support.

In service to this, seven pregnant people in northwest Dayton will have the opportunity to work with a T.R.I.B.E. support team throughout the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum transition.

Ideally, these seven people would have an expected due date of no later than July, 2024.

Each team will consist of four to five T.R.I.B.E. practitioners including two to three doulas who will collectively share call for labor, be available for prenatal informational and emotional support, labor support, including in the case of elective or medical induction, throughout birth and early postpartum.

Each participant will also have the option of receiving prenatal massage therapy, prenatal yoga and mindful labor preparation, as well as postpartum massage, breastfeeding support, pediatric craniosacral therapy for latch support, as well as somatic trauma healing for processing any birth trauma, with the support of the doulas.

Ideally there will be a minimum of four visits - two prenatal to prepare for labor/ birth, and two postpartum to support the transition and integration of the experience.

Each participant will meet with their T.R.I.B.E. support team at least once, and then again with the birth doulas at least one more time prior to birth, as well as two postpartum visits to support transition to parenting at home, and integration of the birth experience (providing there is enough time before birth happens).

The scheduling of healing sessions such as prenatal or postpartum massage therapy, somatics experience, or hypnobirth sessions is the responsibility of the participant with the practitioner.

In addition each participant will have the opportunity to receive one photography session with our perinatal photographer, Juniper.  The participant will discern and schedule with Juniper for either a prenatal or postpartum photo shoot session. If birth photography is desired, arrangements can be made.

It is the responsibility of T.R.I.B.E. to:

Share information with care and confidentiality inside of T.R.I.POD teams

Communicate clearly the on call schedule for the participants

Be available for phone or text support throughout the duration of the perinatal agreement

It is the responsibility of the Participant to:

Communicate to provider that they are working with doulas for the labor/ birth

Communicate clearly with the on call team about labor beginning

Offer feedback in the form of a survey and some open ended questions about your experience, with the invitation to share and record your pregnancy birth story (this part is invitational, not obligational).

Please note: The program is currently no longer accepting new participants, however, you are welcome to apply and stay connected as we work to provide additional opportunities to support more parents and families.
